Leadership

Jake Hunt is the pastor at DoSlova. He is from Georgia, USA, and has lived in Prague with his family since 2010. He attended the University of Georgia and Reformed Theological Seminary in North Carolina, USA.

Jake’s interests include music, history, books, cooking, and running. He is married to Melissa, and they have 4 great kids. He would love to see you at the pub.

As a Presbyterian church, DoSlova is led by elders (the Greek word presbuteros means “elder”) and deacons. Elders are responsible for the spiritual leadership of the church, and deacons assist the elders by leading in practical areas like taking care of technical matters and looking out for and physical needs in the community.

Because we are a young church plant, we have not yet selected our own local elders and deacons. We share a Session (group of elders) with our sending church, Faith Community Church in Prague. Our pastor Jake Hunt is on this Session, along with Jon C and Garret Parker.

We are also a team-led church. Our Leadership Team is made up of the leaders of our various ministry teams, some of which are focused on Sunday worship and some on other ministries of our church. We believe this structure is ideal “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12)
